Bye Bye Utah, Hello Missouri!

The other day we were going through our glove box in the car and I had the thought "When do our plates expire?" I got out and decided to check them out and oops! They expired over a YEAR ago! Well we were leaving the next day for Texas (pictures to come later) so we had no time to renew them! We were very nervous on our trip down to Texas so we said a few prayers that since we forgot, please help us not get pulled over!

After we got back we knew we HAD to get them changed. (Actually I drive past the city hall everyday for work and so I'm surprised I NEVER got pulled over because I am constantly passing cops.

The day after we were back, I did lots and LOTS of research trying to figure out what we should do and what papers we needed to get a Missouri license plate since they were Out of State, but we still paid Missouri taxes on them? (Thank goodness for that!) I talked with Josh and he was so sweet and told me not to worry about it because my little head couldn't take all the stress! (He knows me too well) Later that afternoon we figured we should get our safety check because we knew we needed that much! We were headed to the gym then I told Josh lets just go to the DMV and just SEE what papers we need, maybe we have everything? And if not, I can stop worrying about what we will need. Josh was afraid it was going to be extremely busy seeing it was close to 5 but he said why not!

We get there and it was completely empty! We walked up to the counter and the lady said "What can I help you with today?" We both said "uhh we don't really know?" We explained to her that we promise we tried to do our homework and be prepared but we read so many different things on the website that we had NO idea what we needed to do. She looked up our name and said she had the information saying we paid our taxes and then asked for our registration and we were like huh? She replied with "You know the thing your suppose to always have in your car" We were like ohh yeah THAT thing! Nope don't have it. :) Luckily we were able to call the bank we have our loan through and they were able to fax it over. They told us it'd be a $2 charge for receiving a fax and we laughed and said at this point, we don't care!

The next step was paying for everything. We had no idea what to expect, do we owe something for it being BEYOND expired? The lady told us it'd be $35 and we were wide eyed, jaw dropped! Once again, $35? Not a problem! Considering we thought it'd be hundreds of dollars! As Josh slid the debit card over she said it'd be a $1 processing fee! Fine with us! There was a "How are we doing?" Comment card that I happily filled out giving really good scores because we were so happy everything worked out so amazing!

As we left the DMV office we kept saying "Did that really just happen? Was it really THAT simple" We figured it'd be a longer, more difficult, dramatic process since we weren't sure if we were renewing or getting new plates, if we'd get hit with a huge fine for them being extremely expired or what. We kept laughing thinking wow, that couldn't of worked out more amazing! We made sure to thank the Lord for helping us not get pulled over and helping us get Missouri plates SO easily since it was a honest mistake!

This is Josh and Danielle putting the Missouri plates on our car!
