Bucket list? Wish List?

All the time I feel like I wish I could do more than I am doing right now. I want to become more
"well rounded" I guess you could call it.

Last night as I was laying in bed avoiding sleep I was dreaming of all the things I wish I could do. (If time and money weren't in the way)

  • I wish I could go to beauty school. I would love to learn how to do hair and it could be a side job once we start having kids.
  • I love cooking, but I wish I knew more about it. I would love to go to culinary school and know what ingredients do well with other ingredients.
  • I wish I could bake things, fancy things. Or make cakes. It would be so fun to go to a baking school and learn how to make desserts for people to "ooh and aww" over at parties.
  • I love being healthy and I love learning about healthy things. It would be so much fun to take nutrition classes! That way I can teach my kids how to be healthy and how to enjoy it.
I guess I'm just use to going to the college life. School full time, and part time working. I feel like I should be learning more instead of working all the time. I don't feel like I am doing as much, even though I am helping my husband through school.

I have seriously looked into some of these options but they require 10 months or more to complete the requirement, and more money that we have. I guess I could take a few baking and cooking classes on the weekend. And just continue to research healthy ideas. I don't know why I feel like I should be doing more. Just my thoughts for the day I guess..

I think continual goals and learning is important. Great goals :-)

Everything you just said, is what I love to do EVERY DAY. Haha!

I agree- great goals! I think you should prioritize them and do them all, even if it is one at a time. Hair should be first- because looking pretty while you go hungry is important. ;) Then you could learn about nutrition before you learn to cook and baking should be last, so you won't make anything unhealthy. Haha!

My advice is to just start cooking! I was a horrible cook and knew nothing about nutrition before I got married but slowly over the years... I'm getting it. Understanding spices and what tastes good together and what is healthy and how to supplement healthier options. Search online and follow blogs - you'll learn a ton! I"ll send you some of my favorite blogs via email, maybe tonight:) Good luck! I want to learn to do hair too! Especially now that I'm going to have FOUR girls!

You don't have to be enrolled in an official school to learn. Just take every opportunity you can find. Learning from other people is valuable. The internet has EVERYTHING!

A friend of mine is enrolled in her master's program for nutrition. She told me that she's not learning anything in her classes that I couldn't find on the internet. The only difference will be her piece of paper at the end.

Jill's comment was the funniest!! Melanie is very wise so just ask around and learn from everyone you can. (Grandma taught me how to do hair, btw)

Impressive that you have so many great goals!!

Sometimes I feel this way too.

Being a life-long learner is important! You can learn about all that stuff even if you don't have 10 months or a ton of money.

You're on the right track - setting goals and learning is what keeps life interesting. I totally agree that you should go to hair school - it's a financial sacrifice now but will be worth it when you are able to work from home forever....I say go for it! Luvs.
