State of Texas!
Many wonderful things come from Texas! Not limited to, but including ME. Okay i'm kidding. But really, anything and everything great is probably from Texas. Kidding again. Fine i'll get on with my post.
Every time we go visit my family in Texas Josh has 2 simple requests. We eat gumbo. We eat brisket. Seeing as Josh has a great love for Gumbo, my Mom decided to give him a stock pile of Roux for Christmas. (Buying it is better than trying to make it yourself, you could easily ruin it) Well the other night I decided to try it in the croc pot rather than standing over the oven for several hours making it.
I would just like to report that my mission was a SUCCESS! Gumbo in the croc pot WORKS!
Since this post is about the Wonderful Texas I thought i'd add a fun picture of something we all can agree on...

I bought one measly jar of roux the last time I was home, I need a case like Josh!
Haha! I love the sign! Oooo I need to get me some roux when I go back home in October to introduce these Arizonians to some good southern food!
