My boss is pregnant at work and finds out what she is having today. This is the 3rd pregnancy around here and each time we've tried to make it exciting and different how the person reveals what they are having.
I sent an email to everyone saying "Wear pink or blue to show your vote. Also bring some pink or blue food because parties are more fun with food" you know trying to keep it fun since there isn't a whole lot we can really do here at work. I sent this email YESTERDAY..
Well today, not even 20 hours later I see lots and lots of people walking in, empty handed wearing colors like brown, black and green. All I can think is "You lazy bunch of people you!"I mean really though. I honestly don't think it's hard at all to first of all, remember. ( I was blessed with a killer memory though, maybe that's not fair?) Second of all, pick a blue or pink shirt....if you don't have one color, wear the other!
I always get so frustrated with how lazy people are. If we are at a party and they say "bring food" I always laugh to Josh at people's contributions. A bag of candy, store bought potato salad at a pot luck dinner, just random things that usually don't make sense to the occasion. I think I try very hard most of the time, at anything I do and I think that's what frustrates me is that people don't try hard at something, most things.
I realize people are busy, things come up, not enough money, not enough time, whatever. I think I just see it happen too often so I associate it with no one ever tries? I don't know. I'm just frustrated no one cares. I feel bad for my boss cause the other 2 pregnancies here at work were a big deal but yet no one cares about hers, especially when I tried to make it a big deal.
I just wish the world wasn't SO LAZY!

that picture is PERFECT!!!!
bummer about your coworkers :(
Haha! That picture is pretty awesome and a perfect way to end the post! You seem like you are such a good, caring friend to others... sorry for the lame co workers!
I think a lot of times it is laziness but a lot of times it is just different priorities. Food - not a priority to me. I'm happy with anything simple and healthy. I'm always the one bringing something directly bought from the store. I just don't care enough and it stresses me out to have to think of the food, buy the ingredients, and spend any of my limited time on it. But I don't think it is because I'm lazy - just different priorities. However, email is important to me. I clean my inbox out almost daily, respond to emails every time and usually pretty quickly. I'm always shocked how many people just don't respond. It just seeems SO ODD and frustrating and annoying that people don't respond to a simple email. But really, it is just different priorities. Relating to you and just giving you something to think about;)
That picture is hilarious! I have a really good memory for things too- if they're very important to me. Sometimes I get emails about things happening in the ward or about members and if Johnny's working, I sort-of disregard it (thinking we won't participate anyway). So I miss some things sometimes. But I know what you mean about people not participating or responding. Once Johnny and I through a Couples Halloween party & everyone was supposed to dress up. We even borrowed hay bales for seating and bought black sheets for the decor. It was a big deal. One of the couples we invited wanted to come but the husband refused to dress-up. So they didn't come. Another time we had a party and planned games- that same couple came but the husband refused to play- instead he sat on our computer looking up guns and knives and hunting crap. Ugh! Is it so hard to be a polite guest? Or participate and show support??
I feel ya Kayla! Hey- do you remember that variety show thing? Wasn't I in charge of that? Oh yeah, I was. I remember now- I sent an email asking when we should have it. Never heard from anyone though ... Hmmmm...
;)
